While we tend to experience cravings for all types of food come lunch or dinner time, it seems as though burger cravings occur a little more often. It might be the juicy meat patty, the flavorful toppings, or the freshly baked burger bun — or simply the combination of all three.
Are you hungry yet? If not, you will be by the end of this.
These cravings often creep up on us and we’re stuck with a burger-shaped hole in our stomach with no place to go. What a hopeless feeling! To avoid such panic during your next burger craving, simply consult this list of the best places to grab a burger in Toledo!

While we’ve already addressed Burger Bar 419’s knack for cocktail creation, we’d also love to draw attention to their ability to craft an exceptional burger. It is, in fact, implied in their name!
Using fresh, locally ground beef to craft their patties, Burger Bar 419 has a large selection of unique burger options. Their “Musty Have” burger is comprised of bibb lettuce, grilled tomato, taleggio cheese, portabella mushrooms and balsamic-glazed red onion. Try the Zorba burger off their burger menu, and try not to break out in a dance (they even warn you in the fine print). Hours: Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–2 p.m., Closed Saturday & Sunday
Location: 34 South Huron Street, Toledo, OH 43604
We love Grumpy’s motto — Eat Here & Diet Home. This is a family-owned restaurant the town of Toledo has grown to love for over the past 30 years. Track down their “Grumpy’s On the Go” food truck, or visit their brick-and-mortar location downtown. While their menu covers many food genres, we particularly enjoy their burgers — and the angus burger is especially tasty! Don’t let their short list of burgers fool you; Grumpy’s values quality over quantity.

Maumee Bay Brewing Co. is located in the historic Oliver House and stands strong as Toledo’s oldest brewery. During your next visit, order the ghost burger filled with guacamole, sweet spicy bacon, and ghost pepper jack cheese.

Step into the past with a visit to Schmucker’s Restaurant on Reynolds Road, where they’ve been located since 1948. This family-owned restaurant has a rich history and simply hasn’t changed much over the years, sticking to their wonderful traditions and quality food. Order a homemade burger off their lunch and dinner menu, paying special attention to their Wimpy Burger, which is anything but wimpy with its double dosage of patties and all the fixings.
