Don’t know where to start? Toledo Sport and Social Club is a popular go-to source for adult sports leagues in the area. Their diverse collection of sports options throughout the year means there is something for just about everyone. Take a look at these upcoming spring and summer sports, keeping in mind that the registration deadlines are typically a few weeks before the league starts!
Toledo Sport and Social Club offers three levels of teams, depending on your competition preferences. “Majors” is for those with advanced athletic skills, “Minors” is for those with intermediate athletic skills, and “For Fun” is for those with basic athletic skills.
Football is often deemed a favorite sport among TSSC participants! The rules of this league are designed to encourage involvement from all players, so everyone will leave the field feeling like they contributed to the game. This is a great way to get outside and get some exercise this spring!
Volleyball | April–June or July–September
Due to the sport’s popularity, volleyball is offered throughout every season — both indoor and outdoor! Enjoy beach volleyball this spring or summer in a picturesque setting at International Park along the Maumee in downtown Toledo. The spring/summer season runs from the end of April through the end of June, and the summer/fall season starts in the beginning of July and ends in the middle of September.
If you’re looking for a laid-back and unique sport, kickball is your answer. This classic childhood game is even more fun for adults who enjoy the 6–8 week season from April to June!
Enjoy the beautiful summer weather by joining a TSCC soccer team! The different competitive levels of their soccer teams ensure you can have a blast playing this game that will get your legs moving and your heart racing.
TSSC’s softball league meets at Municipal Park and Rivercrest Park throughout the summer for 14-20 games (many of which are double-headers). This quintessential summer sport is a relaxing and fun way to spend your time, mingling with old and new friends!
Take this casual tailgating game to the next level by joining a cornhole league! This is a fun way to get competitive with this timeless and simple game.
Soccer | April–June
Head to the area’s best soccer facility, Pacesetter Park, for a variety of soccer league options! Choose from the men’s 38+, men’s open, co-ed, or women’s 30+ leagues. There is something for everyone, from the laid-back player to the avid soccer fanatic. Space is limited and registration for Sylvania Recreation District fills up quickly, so sign up as soon as possible! The registration deadline for all leagues is April 21, and games start the following week.
Softball | Starts in April + May
Join the co-ed or men’s softball leagues that also meet at Pacesetter Park this summer. This is a wonderful activity for all levels of experience with the sport! Choose from recreational or competitive rec to join the team that fits your style, then suit up for 14–20 games throughout the summer. Co-ed leagues start May 21 and the registration deadline is April 28. Men’s leagues start the week of April 30 and the registration deadline is April 7.
The City of Bowling Green Community Center is open for drop-in sports throughout the year. This is a wonderful chance to play an organized sport in a relaxed setting without committing to an entire season. Drop-in sports are free for Community Center pass holders, and non-pass-holders may purchase a day pass.
Play basketball on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Community Center Gym on courts 3 and 4.
Play volleyball on Friday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center Gym on court 3.
Men’s Outdoor Flag Football | March–May
Get moving with an action-packed game of flag football. This 8-on-8 men’s league meets at East Broadway Middle School for seven weeks throughout the spring for a fun and intense season. The first game is March 26 but the registration deadline is March 12! Sign up now by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sylvania Senior Softball has been an excellent outlet for men to stay active each spring since the league’s inception in 2008. The two teams, 50+ Legends and the 58+ Masters, play competitively in a constructive and fun environment as they enjoy America’s pastime under the lights at Pacesetter Park in Sylvania.
