The 23rd Annual Danberry Treasure Chest Charity Auction

On October 26th, Danberry Realtors held the 23rd annual Danberry Treasure Chest charity auction event. The Danberry Treasure Chest is an emergency assistance fund set up at the ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital Foundation. Every dollar is used to benefit families going through financial trials while their child struggles with a serious illness. Funds are administered through The Toledo Community Foundation and used to aid in rent, back utilities, housing, car payments, medical equipment, or in the worst of circumstances, to cover funeral costs. Over the years, The Danberry Treasure Chest has raised over $885,000 and helped over 794 local families through their difficult situation.

We are still tallying our numbers but we are happy to announce we have broken last year’s record and have raised more than $134,000, that is a whopping $14,000 over what we raised in 2016!

The evening kicked off with a tailgate theme at 5pm, held at The Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons, everyone joined in with the theme by sporting their team jerseys, colors, and attire creating a fun atmosphere that lasted throughout the night. Our premier sponsor, Buffalo Wild Wings-Mangas Franchise, who raised an amazing $29,137.32, hosted games in the hall for everyone to participate in. People enjoyed a photo booth to capture the night’s memories, grazing stations lined the walls of the venue, beer tasting was available as well as multiple cocktail bars throughout, giving everyone a chance to mingle the room and peruse the available items up for bid.

The Master of Ceremonies, Jeff Smith from 13abc, rallied audience participation in the $2,500 raffle, purchasing of keys for the Treasure Chest “box” with a $2,500 ticket value, and gained extra donations with his enthusiasm for the cause! Jack Amlin, from Amlin Auctions, ran the show for the live auction portion of the program. Jack’s high powered energy gave the crowd a chance to join in the fun and bid on items from trips to autographed sports memorabilia. Tiny teddy bears were raffled off at $25 a piece to boost the fund and our generous attendees swooped them up so fast our team could barely keep up. It is because of our amazing guests that this event has always been such a fantastic success!

At 8:15pm our silent auction tables closed and the night wound down while some went home to family and others lingered to truly hold onto the nights offerings, it is because of the fun, amazing, and charitable audience that this event brings in that we are able to help so many local families in need. We are so very thankful for the support of our sponsors, agents, volunteers, and staff that played a vital roll in the success of the 23rd annual Danberry Treasure Chest event. Everyone had the best of times and we cannot wait to announce what next year’s event will have in store, thank you from all of us at Danberry Realtors!
