Christmas Light Helicopter Tours

Get a chance to go flying to see our beautiful cities Christmas lights from a different perspective, a helicopter! Tours can be 30 mins or 45 mins, up to 3 passengers with a max weight of 600lbs total for all passengers. Tours are by appointment only and subject to availability. Flights depart from Toledo Suburban Airport and will head down through downtown Toledo and then over to the Toledo Zoo.

During this special event you can visit with Santa and his live reindeer, ice skate, listen to live musical performances or join in with the carolers! Also available are holiday vignettes and activities featuring costumed presenters. Take a moment to stroll through decorated homes and shops, learn how to make a new sweet treat with holiday cooking demonstrations or hop aboard historic rides on horse-drawn wagons. Ride the 1913 Herschell-Spillman Carousel that features Model T’s, purchase Christmas trees and greens at the annual sale, then cap off your evening with the fireworks finale and sing-along. There truly is something for everything at this event, be sure to plan your trip this month to Greenfield Village!

Hensville Lights


November – January 20th

Come on down to St. Clair Street, where more than 200,000 twinkling holiday lights will transform our beloved downtown Toledo into a true winter wonderland! New for 2017, Hensville Park features a 45 feet tall Christmas tree to be lit and on display along the Monroe Street side of the park. Hensville Lights are presented by Toledo Edison and Lexus of Toledo, and supported by NSG Group. Businesses along St. Clair Street are also participating: Maloney, McHugh & Kolodgy Ltd., NINE at Hensville, Fleetwood’s Tap Room, Shared Lives Studio, Midwest Terminals, Thomas Porter Architects, 20 North Gallery, Frickers and Durty Bird. It is free to view the lights!


Winterland Extravaganza

Join hundreds of runners and walkers for the Run Santa Run 5k! The start and finish points will be in front of Second Sole at The Town Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, OH. Runners are encouraged to dress festive.

Holidays in the Manor House

For over 40 years, community volunteers have transformed over 30 areas of the Manor House at Wildwood Preserve Metropark into a holiday wonderland. Tour the Manor House and see why over 25,000 people make Holidays in the Manor House an annual tradition. The Andersons and your Metroparks will have a S’more Hut available. Make a s’more over an open fire on your way to or from the Manor House!

Take a leisurely ride through scenic Wildwood Preserve aboard a carriage pulled by Molly and Sally — the mule team from Providence. This experience is being offered Dec. 2 & 3, 8 & 9, 10 and 15 -17 to make your visit to Holidays in the Manor House even more memorable! Cost for a carriage ride is $6/person (children under 5 free if they sit on an adult’s lap). Ticket sales online only at Tickets sales begin on Nov. 1, 2017.

Guests are invited to bring donations of new hats, scarves and gloves to place on the Mitten Tree. Items collected will be donated to local children in need. The Mitten Tree is an annual project of Volunteers in Parks.

Toledo Zoo Lights Before Christmas

Toledo Zoo Members get unlimited weekday visits free and 1 free weekend visit. Non-members Adults $17, Kids & Seniors $14

The Toledo Zoo remains open for one additional hour after gates close to allow guests to complete their visit. The Lights Before Christmas ticket price applies all day. The 2017 edition of the area’s brightest holiday tradition features over one million lights and more than 200 illuminated animal images! Presented by Key Bank.

Indoor and Outdoor Ice Skating

For indoor ice skating visit Sylvania’s Tam-O-Shanter! They offer open public skating every day of the year; click here for their online schedule. Don’t have skates? No problem! They have an inventory of over 200 rental skates sizes ranging from youth 7 through adult 14 sizes. Group rates start after your group total is 15, so if you and the gang are looking for a great way to socialize while you exercise, come and join in the fun.

Also at Tam-O-Shanter is Children’s Wonderland. This magical holiday display tradition began over 50 years ago! For decades, families have been coming to find the holiday spirit at Children’s Wonderland.  Dozens of classic exhibits will be on display, train rides will be available and plenty of opportunities to take pictures with Santa. It opens Friday, December 8 and will run through Dec. 24. Visit for more details.


Ottawa Park

Ottawa Park offers outdoor ice skating, weather permitting, for more details on events, times, and cost visit:

Join in on Ottawa’s holiday activities on December 15th from 6pm-8pm that include, a tree lighting, Christmas carols, horse carriage rides and complimentary hot chocolate!

Pearson Park

There’s something for everyone at Pearson Metropark. It is one of the last remaining stands of the Great Black Swamp, a notorious forest that once blanketed much of northwest Ohio. 

Enjoy Pearson’s outdoor skating, open daily and weather permitting, until 8pm. Lights have been added near the skating area so you can continue the fun even after the sun sets! Visit:

Oak Openings Preserve

Located between Whitehouse and Swanton, Oak Openings Preserve is about 5,000 acres and takes its name from the surrounding region. It was named the sandy region by The Nature Conservancy, one of the 200 “Last Great Places on Earth.”
