Fall brings crisp air, freshly picked apples, all things pumpkin, and some of the best local events of the year! Check out our guide for all local Fall Happenings, from some of our favorite orchards to must visit events. Mark your calendars, put on a sweatshirt and grab your pumpkin spiced drink and let’s jump into fall.

Orchards

Erie Orchard

Location: 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI
Hours: Mon – Sat 9am – 7pm / Sun 11am – 6pm

Erie Orchards and Cider Mill is set just over the Michigan line on approximately 70 acres of farm production, with 30 acres of apple trees (that’s approximately 15,000 bushels of apples harvested annually!!) With a large variety of apple types, Erie Orchards has become a local love for all things Fall. With a long list of events throughout the fall season, u-pick apples and pumpkins, farm animals, delicious donuts and cider, and so much more, this family owned orchard is one of the area’s favorite Fall destinations. MacQueen Orchards

Location: 7605 Garden Rd, Holland, OH
Hours: Mon – Sun 9am – 8pm

Famous for their Apple Butter Stir Festival, MacQueen’s Orchards farm market is open year round, providing you a one-stop shop for farm fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh pies and treats from the bakery. After you are done climbing through rows and rows of apple trees picking the most delicious apples, stop in to the shop for fresh donuts, locally grown vegetables, and Martha’s Gift Shop and Boutique and The Christmas Shop for unique, hard to find gifts. Gust Brothers Pumpkin Farm

Location: 13639 Mulberry Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI
Hours: Mon – Sun 9am – 7pm (tentatively)

Gust Brother’s Pumpkin Farm provides a real farm experience to all visitors. Stop by Gust Brother’s to be able to experience all things Fall in one location. Gust Brother’s is the place to go to fill your home and belly with autumn delights. Choose from all different sizes of of pumpkins, corn shocks, straw bale, mums, crafts, fall wreaths, Amish jam, apple butter, local honey, and so much more. Take home the experience with u-pick pumpkins, vegetables, and cut flowers and build-your-own flower bouquet. The farm animals are a must see with a variety of animals (and babies!), such as cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, bunnies, and kittens. Don’t leave without enjoying cider, fresh farm-made warm donuts, and pumpkin cookies. Hayrides available Saturday and Sunday; weather permitting. Bennetts Orchard

Hours: Mon – Sat 9am – 7pm / Sun 10am – 5pm

For over 50 years, Bennetts Orchard has provided you with quality fruits and vegetables at the best prices around. Whether you test your climbing skills to get the perfect apple at the top or choose from the already picked apples, the selection is sure to please. With fresh cider always being pressed and fresh donuts made on the weekends, the delicious aroma will pull you right into the country store. Fleitz Pumpkin Farm

Location: 7133 Seaman Rd, Oregon, OH

Savor the fall season with your family at Fleitz Pumpkin Farm! Just south of Maumee Bay State Park, this farm is known for their pumpkins, activities, petting zoo, and of course their delicious donuts. Opening Day on Sept 13th brings Oreo Donuts as the special! This reasonably priced farm offers fun for the whole family. Make it a tradition to take their hayride around the farm, find your way through the corn maze, and finish with one (or two or three) of their delicious, unique donuts.

Johnston Fruit Farm

Locations: 2790 US-20 ALT (Airport Hwy), Swanton, OH
Hours: Mon – Sat 8:30am – 7pm / Sun 10am – 6pm

This family owned fruit farm has been a go-to for all your fall fruit for over 60 years. Pick your own apples in their apple orchard, visit the cider mill and take home delicious cider, explore the pumpkin patch to find your perfect jack-o-lantern, pick your own blueberries and strawberries (seasonal), events throughout the year, and a free petting zoo. Sept 15th Opening Day of the Corn Maze at The Butterfly House

Times: 12pm – 11pm
Location: Wheeler Farms – 11455 Obee Rd, Whitehouse, OH
Rates: 10 & Over: $9  / Ages 6-9 w/ Adult: $8  / 65 & Over: $8 / Under 5: Free with Adult

Guests of all ages will love getting lost in any of the 4 different dinosaur Corn Mazes at The Butterfly House. Season runs September 15th – October 28th. The different mazes provide different skill levels, so just choose one or all four for a full day of fun. Want even more of a challenge? Try to find the 24 hidden checkpoints throughout the mazes.

Sept 15th & 16th Erie Orchard’s Kids Weekend 1

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

Bring the kids for a full day of fun! Enjoy the petting zoo, purchase a one-of-a-kind piece from crafters, pony and hayrides will also be available! Magic shows and the clown will be performing both Saturday and Sunday from 1-5pm.

Sept 22nd Roche-de-Boeuf Parade & Festival

Hours: 9am – 5pm
Location: Downtown Waterville

Join in the fun for the 45th Annual Roche de Boeuf Festival! The festival is sure to have something for everyone with 3 stages of live entertainment, bouncy houses, car show, fine arts row, handmade crafts, delicious food and a parade.

Sept 22nd & 23rd Erie Orchards Harvest Festival

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

The Harvest Festival is prime time for apples, exploring the corn maze, and enjoying pony and hayrides. You can also watch the magic shows on Sunday from 1-5pm. Don’t miss this weekend for fall fun!

Sept 29th & 30th Erie Orchards Pumpkin Festival

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

The pumpkin fields are open so stop by on this weekend to get the perfect pumpkin. After you have your pumpkin, continue the fun with apple picking. The Orchard is filled entertainment, including a corn maze, pony and hayrides, and crafts.

Oct 6th & 7th Erie Orchard Pumpkin Extravaganza

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

Whether you’re looking for the front porch or to carve a masterpiece, this weekend is great for pumpkin picking. A huge craft show along with pony and hayrides, and a corn maze complete the fall adventure. And don’t forget the cider and donuts!

Oct 6th & 7th MacQueen’s Apple Butter Festival

Hours: 9am – 5pm
Location: MacQueen’s Orchard – 7605 Garden Rd, Holland, OH

The first weekend of October, MacQueen Farm’s celebrates the fall harvest with their Apple Butter Stir Festival. A local favorite, this festival is a days worth of fun with: Pick Your Own Apples, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Craft Show, Barbeque, Cold Apple Cider, Live Entertainment & Youth Talent Performances, Pony Rides, Carousels & Climbing Walls, Exciting Kids Rides and Attractions, Tours of the Giant Apple Cider Press, and Annual Pie Baking Contest.

Oct 13th Fall Festival Toledo’s WOW District

Hours: 12pm – 5pm
Location: Sylvania Ave between Woodmont and Elmhurst

Enjoy the Fall weather and festivities at the Third Annual WOW District Fall Festival with live entertainment, crafters, food trucks, contests, raffles. Bring the kids and pets in their halloween best for the costume contests!

Oct 13th & 14th Erie Orchard Kids Weekend 2

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

Come celebrate one of Erie Orchard’s biggest weekends of the year! The weekend is host to crafters, pony and hayrides, corn maze, inflatables, a petting zoo, and magic shows both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Top the day off with Erie Orchard’s 1st Family Fun Night ($10 adults / $5 children / 5 and under free) with a hayride to the corn maze on Saturday evening from 7-9pm. Includes a bonfire and snacks… a great evening for all!

Oct 14th Grand Rapids Applebutter Fest

Hours: 7am – 5pm
Location: Downtown Grand Rapids

This 42nd Annual Fest brings in people from all over for one-day event filled with all things Fall. Watch the historical reenactments and pioneer demonstrations, then shop the tons of handmade craft booths, all the while listen to live music and enjoying delicious food all along the Maumee River! Oct 14th 2nd Annual Fall Orchard Yoga Festival

Hours: 1pm – 3pm
Location: Bennett’s Orchard – 5647 Consear Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI
Tickets: $22.49

Experience a yoga experience like no other, inside the tree lined orchard of freshly-picked apples and crisp fall air. After the yoga session, a full cider tasting of Bennet’s Orchard’s specially made hard cider and a fresh warm donut finishes this perfect fall day! Make sure to grab some delicious donuts and sweet or hard cider to take home. Space is limited, so make sure to get your ticket!

Oct 17th OctoBOOFest Downtown Perrysburg

Hours: 11am – 3pm
Location: Downtown Perrysburg

Visit the streets of Downtown Perrysburg for another fun OctoBOOfest event! Sponsored by Mercy Health, this event lines downtown. Family fun events, including trick or treating, costume parades, and scavenger hunts are just a few of the events you’ll find at OctoBOOFest.

Oct 18th & Oct 19th Little Boo at the Zoo

Hours: 10am – 3pm
Location: The Toledo Zoo
Cost: Members $7 for participating children (all others free admission with their membership) / Non-members are $16 for adults and children and $13 for seniors.

A popular fall stop for families with young ones is The Toledo Zoo’s Little Boo at the Zoo, sponsored by Meijer. Designed for the toddler and pre-school aged children to wear their costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the historic side of the Zoo. Kids can enjoy crafts, puppet shows, magic, and free games all in a friendly fun atmosphere without the fright. Everyone’s favorite princesses and other beloved characters will also be there for free photo opportunities! Make sure to bring your environmentally friendly reusable bag for treats and the Toledo Zoo is proud to support the teal pumpkin initiative by offering alternative treats for children with food allergies.

Oct 20th Fall Festival – Trunk or Treat

Hours: 11am – 4pm
Location: The Shops at Fallen Timbers – 3100 Main St. Maumee, OH

This free event is a perfect time to bring the kids in costume for a family afternoon of Trunk or Treat, Dance party, and Costume Contest!

Oct 20th & 21st Erie Orchards Cider Making Weekend

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

See how the delicious cider is made and taste a sample of their famous fresh cider. Erie Orchard activities include: pony and hayrides, apple and pumpkin picking, corn maze, petting zoo, and a magic show on Sunday from 1-4pm. Complete the day at Erie Orchard’s 2nd Family Fun Night ($10 adults / $5 children / 5 and under free) from 7-9pm with a bonfire and hayride to the corn maze.

Oct 21st 33rd Annual Sylvania Fall Festival

Hours: 10am – 4pm
Location: Downtown Sylvania

The Sylvania Fall Festival is a longstanding Sylvania tradition, and this year is sure to be one for the books! Main Street will be lined with all types of vendors including food, crafts, and informational booths along with stage performances at the corner of Main and Maplewood. The fall festival parade will run from Monroe to Main Street and is a must-see! Official Rain Date: Sunday, October 28th

Oct 27th & 28th Erie Orchard’s Holloween Weekend

Hours: 9am – 7pm
Location: Erie Orchard – 1235 Erie Rd, Erie, MI

A full day of fun at Erie Orchards with pony and hayrides, crafts, entertainment and pumpkin and apple picking. Their annual costume contest will be held Sunday at 3pm for children ages 1-10 and  winners get a prize. Don’t miss the final weekend to get your pumpkin!
