The big day finally has come and gone! On October 11th, 2018 Danberry Realtors held the 24th Annual Danberry Treasure Chest Charity Auction and Dinner. After months of planning, we are proud to announce that the sold-out event hosted 504 attendees, our biggest group yet. This year, the auction was held at the Toledo Zoo Malawi Event Center. The night kicked off at 5:00 PM with the silent auction. Those in attendance were able to browse through the items available for auction, purchase raffle tickets, keys to the mysterious treasure chest, or take a silly group picture with one of the many backdrops available at the photo booth.

The Danberry Treasure Chest is an emergency assistance fund set up through the ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital Foundation. Every dollar is used to benefit families going through financial hardships while their child struggles with a serious illness. Funds aid in rent, utilities, housing, car payments, or medical expenses. This year we were excited to feature our sponsor family through both their attendance of the event and a series of videos. A huge thank you to the Brake/Graves family for joining us and sharing Elijah’s touching story of how the Treasure Chest provided relief during a time of need. Their story is truly one of triumph and strength and families like theirs inspire us to continue raising funds for this amazing cause.  It’s such an honor to be able to help deserving families and we greatly appreciate those who were able to be there.

The program began at 6:30pm with our Master of Ceremonies, Bruce Gradkowski, a ProMedica Community Advisor. A proven winner who has overcome adversity and achieved excellence throughout his career, Bruce spent 11 years in the NFL. He is now focusing his time and efforts on a career in broadcasting. With such a busy schedule, we were thrilled to hear he was willing to take time to help us keep the event running smoothly. If you want to keep up with what he’s doing next, you can tune into “Bruce’s QB Q&A” for 13abc Action News in Toledo.

Our live auction was hosted by Greg Zielinski of Amlin Auctions. We are so grateful for the endless support of our sponsors, agents, volunteers, and staff that have made the last 24 years so successful. Our premier sponsor, Buffalo Wild Wings Mangas Franchise, raised their largest contribution yet: $29,525. Without their incredible donation efforts, this event wouldn’t be possible. This years event exceeded our goal with nearly $160,000 raised for the Treasure Chest Fund, to be able to provide for families in need. We would also like to recognize the efforts and support we have received from our amazing sponsors, donors, community partners, and volunteers, as well as, the staff at the Toledo Zoo. With a gorgeous venue, amazing food, and welcoming staff they were able to help us make the 24th event our very best!

The work does not stop here however. The Danberry Treasure Chest is truly a yearlong campaign. We host events throughout the year such as golf outings, the company contribution program, internal office fundraisers and so much more! In addition, our sponsoring family will be taken on by the company to assist with needs during the Holidays as they are quickly approaching.
