National Pickleball Day is the perfect time to spotlight one of our area’s newest and most exciting destinations: Toledo Pickle Co. Since opening its doors six months ago, this vibrant local business has established itself as much more than simply a place to play the fastest growing sport in America; it’s a full-blown experience.
Located along the Vistula neighborhood on the Metroparks Toledo’s Downtown Glass City Riverwalk, Toledo Pickle was co-founded by Danberry Realtors Jenny Gibbons and Brian Epstein, along with Jenny’s father, Mike Gibbons. Together, the husband-and-wife team and Jenny’s father saw an opportunity to create a community hub in collaboration with the Metroparks, right along the city’s beautifully reimagined riverfront. And that’s exactly what they’ve done. The 40,000-square-foot space boasts indoor and outdoor pickleball courts as well as a restaurant, rock climbing wall, shuffleboard, corn hole, a sprawling patio, and plans to add boat docks. This dynamic venue can accommodate over 750 guests and is available for private event rentals.
“Jenny, Mike, and I saw an opportunity to combine our passions of pickleball, entertainment, and supporting the growth of our region. The Metroparks’ achievements along the riverfront are a game changer for our community and Toledo Pickle Co. provides another boost. As a lifelong Toledoan, it’s very exciting to be a part of their efforts,” said Brian.
“Toledo Pickle Co. is more than pickleball. It is a social gathering place for the entire family, with amazing food, entertainment and the largest patio and river view anywhere. We can’t wait for the docks to go in,” highlighted Jenny.
Membership is not required at Toledo Pickle. If you’re a casual player who’s not ready to fully dive in, court rentals are available for $20/hour per person. For the more passionate pickleballers, individual and corporate memberships offer discounts, advanced reservations, and other perks.
